Introduction

2017 CAL  Making a Cotton dress with steel 4-5-6 hook and #10 Thread.

I have put this together to help those that have dreamed of a crocheted dress and felt they could not make it alone.  We will be having open discussions throughout this year on various aspects of the dress making.  Photos of your progress and questions are welcome.

WE will be using the BIG Ball White Crochet thread #10.

Each month we will cover a different part of this dress making.  Some of you will have made only a few items in thread and other will have made more difficult items.  This dress will be making smaller items and combining them to make a larger project come together.

Lesson 1 will be the basics of pattern making for your dress/blouse/skirt.

Lesson 2 will be the choice of materials needed and how to find the motifs for this dress and layout.

Lesson 3 will be the making the fringe.

Lesson 4 will be flowers and leaves.

Lesson 5 will be structure motifs and basic fillers.

Lesson 6 will be Necklines and armholes and or sleeves.

Lesson 7 will be on dying the motifs with protein reactive dyes.

Lesson 8 will be blocking your bits and pieces.

Lesson 9 will be connecting your pieces together.

Lesson 10 will be show 'n tell.

  11. This is a free class and open to the public. I have been accused of teaching another artists work this is not true. It is also not the first time she has accused me of this. All the designs I am posting here are made by me or I have a link to where you can find the work of other artists. I will teach you how to make a dress but it will be your design when you are finished. You are welcome to make my design. I hope these lessons will help you design your own style of dress.

  13. Would like to make the dress. Or possibly make it as a blouse (not really a dress person). Am posting from Vancouver, WA.
