LESSON 4 PART 2 Large leaf

This is the leaf that goes with Tzephaniah flower

I found this leaf on the internet and was unable to read Russian so I brought the image into InkScape and began working out how it was made.  It takes trial and error to make things this way, but I like a challenge.  If you like this leaf all you need do now is follow the instructions below:

Instructions  #4 steel hook and #10 crochet cotton thread.

ch 45, turn.

row 1: ch1-up, sc in next 44 chs, turn.

row 2: ch1-up, sc in next 43 sc, turn.

row 3: ch1-up, (2sc, hdc, 6 dc, 2hdc, 2 sc) in next 13 sts, turn.

row 4: ch1-up, sc in next 9 sts, turn.

row 5: ch1-up, (sc, hdc, 11 dc, hdc, 3 sc) in next 17 sts, turn.

row 6: ch1-up, sc in next 12 sts, turn.

row 7: ch1-up, (sc, hdc, 4dc, 2dc-tog, 4dc, 2hdc, 4sc) in next 16 sts, turn.

row 8: ch1-up, sc in next 13 sts, turn.

row 9: ch1-up, (sc, hdc, 5dc, 2dc-tog, 4dc, hdc, sc) in next 14 sts, turn.

row 10: ch1-up, sc in next 14 sts, turn.

row 11: ch1-up, (sc, hdc, 3dc, 2dc-tog, 8dc, hdc, 2sc-tog dec, 2sc),in next 18 sts, turn.

row 12: chi-up, sc in next 13 sts, turn.

row 13: ch1-up, (sc, hdc, 4dc, 2dc-tog, 4dc, 2hdc, 5sc), in next 18 sts, turn.

row 14: ch1-up, sc in next 12 sts, turn.

row 15: ch1-up, (sc, hdc, 10dc, 2hdc, 2sc, in next 16 sts.

row 16: continue in the same direction, around end of leaf (2sc-tog dec, in next 2 sts across end), sc in next 43 sts, turn.

row 17: ch1-up, (sc, 2hdc, dc) in next 4 sts, (ch1, sk1st, dc in next) 2x, sk1st, (hdc, 2sc, 2sc-tog dec)  in next4 sts, turn.

row 18: ch1-up, sc in next 9 sts, turn.

row 19: ch1-up, (sc, hdc, 2dc, ch1 sk1st, 2dc, ch1 sk1st, hdc ch1 sk1st, hdc, 3sc, 2sc-tog) in next 14 sts, turn.

row 20: ch1-up, (sc, 2sc-tog dec, 9sc) in next 12 sts, turn.

row 21: ch1-up, (sc, hdc, dc sk1st, dc ch1 sk1st, 2dc sk1st, 2hdc, sc, 2sc-tog dec), in next 15 sts, turn.

row 22: ch1-up, sc in next 9 sts, turn.
