 "Saphronia" Block 02

This block is for those hard to fill corner spots.

INSTRUCTIONS:

leaving a 5" tail, ch9, slst in 1st ch.

rnd 1: ch1-up, 13sc in ring.

rnd 2: ch1-up, sc in same, *(sc in next st, 2sctog in next st, sc in next st)*  repeat around. 17st total, slst in 1st sc.

rnd 3: ch4-up, dc in same, *(ch3, sk 3st, [dc, ch1, dc (V st)] in next st)* 4x.  5 V st across.

rnd 4: ch1-up, sc in same, sc in each st around, slst in 1st st. 27sc

rnd 5: ch1-up, sc in same, sc in next st, *(ch 7, sk 3st, sc in next 7st)*repeat (ch4 tr in last sc rnd 4. turn.

NOTE: we will be working in a quadrant at a time.

row 6: (1 sc, ch4, 3sc, ch4, 3sc) in loop, sc in next sc of rnd 5, turn.

row 7: ch 7 up, 3dc-puff in center st of 2nd of 3sc section, ch4, tr in last sc of rnd 6,turn.

row 8: sc in next sc rnd 7, *(ch4, 2tr, dc, hdc, sc) in loop, (sc, hdc, dc, 2tr, dtr, 2tr, dc, hdc, sc) in next loop sc in next 5sc of rnd 5), 1st sec. - (sc, hdc, dc, 2tr, dtr, 2tr, dc, hdc, sc) in each of the 3 ch7 sections, sc in next 5sc of rnd 5) for center section, (sc, hdc, dc, 2tr, dtr) in last loop, turn.

rnd 9: ch1-up, sc in same, ch 7, dc-puff in top of puff of rnd 7, ch4, sc in dtr of rnd 8, sc2, dtrcl in center st on row 8, ch2, sc in dtr, ch4, dc-puff in puff, ch7, sc in dtr, ch7, dc-puff in puff, ch4, sc in dtr, ch2, dtrcl in center st on row 8, ch 2, sc in dtr, ch4, dc-puff in puff, ch7, sc in last st, turn.

rnd 10: ch1-up, *(ch4 picot in same, 10sc in ch7 loop, ch4 picot in dc-puff, 6sc in ch4 loop, 2sc in ch2, dh4 picot in dtrcl, 4sc in ch2, 6sc in ch4, ch-4picot in dc-puff,10sc in ch7)* repeat ** around, slst in base of 1st picot. leave a 5" tail.

weave tails in 3 different directions, trim.

Block to 6 inch square and using steam iron, hold iron 1/4 " above your work.  DO NOT touch iron to element!

SPECIAL stitches

[double-treble cluster]:

beg dtrcl: ch 3, wrap over hook , insert into st in last row, (wrap over hook 1x, bring through 2 loops)2x, ch 4.

dtrcl:  wrap over hook 4 times, insert into st in last row, (wrap over hook 1x, bring through 2 loops)3x, wrap over and bring through 4 loops, remove remaining loops 2 at a time until down to 1 loop on hook.
